I like to get tucked in under a towel when my humans are in the shower.  The warmth and steam from the shower puts me to sleep.  Sometimes when they're done, though, I follow them out of the bathroom and forget I'm still wearing the towel.
Portlandia-Dog Park
Sometimes we actually meet people like this at the dog park.  Usually their dogs aren't that nice...probably because they have to deal with crazy owners.  Portlandia nails it!  It cracks me up!  Elise and I just watched it 3 times in a row.

My friend Mackie came to visit this evening with her human, Valerie.  I wrestled with her as long as I could, before she got annoyed with me and just wanted to chew on toys.  So I laid down next to her, as close as I could get, and chewed on toys too.  Sometimes instead of chewing on my own toy, I just watched her chew on toys.  She is my favorite.  Elise says that I smother her, but I think she secretly likes it.
All day, after lots of running around at the dog park, I've been following Elise from room to room and taking mini naps until she switches rooms.  I didn't want to leave the bathroom after it got all warm and cozy, while she was in the shower.  I was busy dreaming about squirrels.
This is me at Marymoor dog park this morning.  It was actually sunny outside, which made me extra spunky.  It was still really cold though and anything that still had moisture or snow on it, was icy!  You can see me sitting right next to a big patch of ice in the picture.  I was slipping and sliding all over the place!  Elise and I ran around for an hour though, and I played with lots of dogs.  My favorite was a ten year old lab mix, with a jacket on.  He looked pretty good for ten years old and played with me for quite a while.  Then I think he started to get tired, so I ran circles around him, and he'd bark at me every time I ran by.

It's been snowing and snowing and snowing up here!  Elise took me outside and threw the ball for me for a while this morning.  I don't think we can go to the dog park today.  Elise keeps saying something about the car not making it back up the steep hill.  At least I think that's what she's saying.  Oh well, running around for the ball was pretty fun.  I kept losing the ball in the snow because it was so deep.  I had to dig around for it.  Hopefully we get to go outside and do it again later!  For now I am continuing to chase the tennis ball around the house, which inevitably leads to me pushing it under the couch.  Then Elise has to get it out from under the couch for me.  It's a fun game we like to play.

On our walk today, I found the BEST STICK EVER!  It was one of those sticks that you just can't put down.  I decided I should make sure it made it home with me, and held it throughout the whole walk.  The problem was, when I got it home, it was too long to fit through the doorway.  So, I just laid down with it outside and chewed on it for a while.  Eventually Elise made me come inside, but she promised I could chew on it some more, the next time we go outside.

Today Elise took me to the dog park and I got to play in the SNOW!  I ran all over through the tall grass, kicking up snow as I went.  I stopped and ate some of it once in a while too.  It tastes pretty good, although I'm not that picky.  There was a fun Boxer there today that I ran nonstop with, for twenty minutes straight.  We just ran in circles in the big snowy field and through the trees.  She couldn't catch me but that didn't stop her from trying.  Sometimes she'd get close enough to grab my neck, so now my neck is pretty slobbery.  I wore myself out.  It's time for a nap.

Elise let me take a nap with her on the couch today.  I'm normally not allowed on the couch so I took advantage of it, and really utilized as much space as I could.

This is what's left of the rope portion of my birthday toy.  Even though it's just a long slimy thing now, I still like to drag it all over the house with me.  It's fun to sling around.

This is my long distance friend Molly.  She lives in sunny San Diego, with our human friends Liz and Brad.  I hope someday we get to visit each other and run around and play.  I hear that she has just as much energy as I do!  These pictures are of her in their backyard.  She likes to peer over the fence, into the neighbor's yard.

Today is my 1st birthday!  Elise made me wear this funny hat, which I really just wanted to eat, but then I got a cool new toy so it was worth it.  I'm going to see how long it takes me to shred the toy and leave it in little pieces all over the house!  We've gone for lots of little walks today, and I'm actually still pretty tired from my afternoon with Mackie yesterday, so I'm excited to lay here with my new toy and cuddle with my human.  It's been a good birthday so far.
Elise and I were pooped after an afternoon of playing with Mackie and her human Valerie.  We couldn't even make it up the stairs.  Eventually Brandon did make us go to bed upstairs, but we took this little power nap first.

With me here is my friend Mackie.  She came to visit me today and we had lots of fun!  We went to the dog park and ran around a lot and swam and wrestled and chased the tennis ball.  I'm sad she had to go home.  I keep looking out the window and whining, thinking maybe she just went outside for a minute.  I hope she gets to come visit again very soon!
Tomorrow is my birthday, and I got an early present from my friend Kyra today!  These are my favorite dog treats!  I am so excited that I could just tear the box open and eat them all at once!

Elise likes to wear these things on her paws, so I figured I'd give them a try.  Eh, they're okay, but really I just want to pull them off my paws and eat them.  They're nice and fuzzy and would be fun to shred.

It's been cold outside lately.  I decided to try on some of my humans' long sleeve shirts.  They are really cozy, but I had trouble walking in them.  I think I need to hem the sleeves....or maybe I'll just stick with my fur coat.

Today at the dog park, I decided I felt like swimming some laps.  Before I got in, I had to find the perfect entry point, because I don't like just jumping right in.  I finally found a good spot to slide in, and the water felt nice and brisk. I just swam around in circles for a while.  Elise kept saying she didn't want to come in and save me if I got tired out in the middle of the river, but I have quite a bit of stamina.  Sometimes dogs would go by and just watch me swim for a few minutes.  I think they were trying to figure out if there was something cool in the water, that I was chasing, but I was just swimming for the hell of it.

Elise and I went for a run this morning.  I was going to try to wear Brandon's shoes, but they were a little big for me.  I'm getting better at running in a straight line and not bumping into Elise.  I think she appreciates that.

Friday, January 6, 2012

Elise gave me lots of exercise today and I'm pooped.  When I'm really tired, I curl into a tiny little ball.  First we went on a 3 mile run.  Then Elise and our human friend Kyra took me to the dog park.  I found lots of dogs that would play with me today....a Goldendoodle, a little brown one, a chow mix, some yellow labs.  I met another little terrier that seemed as stuck up as its owners.  Obviously it doesn't know that the point of the dog park is to have fun.  Right before we left, I went swimming and managed to wash most of the mud off of me.  Now...nap.

This is as far into the shower as I go.  I love biting the water, though.  It's coming right at my face, so it's asking for it.

I got a little bored while my humans were gone last night, for New Year's Eve.  I really enjoy eating magazines, and one of them I found was just too tempting.  The shiny texture just tastes so good!  This morning I found a couple leftover pieces and tried to quietly eat them.  Elise caught me.  She traded me my favorite bone for the magazine pieces, though, so I can't complain.
